The Tingler Trailer (1959)

When ‘The Tingler’ opened in San Antonio the viewers had a surprise in store for them. William Castle, the film’s director, had arranged for seats to be wired with vibration devices. The lights went out at one point both in the film and in the theatre and the vibrators went off. The ‘Tingler’ had ostensibly struck and people screamed, screamed for their lives.
