Yes, one person in England cost emergency services over 1 million pounds when they had to rescue her after each of her 50 suicide attempts. This is just all kinds of wrong. First of all, if you try something 50 times, something that even stupid people manage to do with fairly regular frequency, one starts to suspect you’re not really trying that hard. And at some point shouldn’t the emergency services people realize you aren’t all that serious and just ignore these dramas? Of course that might result in an inadvertent success. But then if you don’t want to end up dead, making repeated phony suicide attempts is a pretty dumb thing to do, and we have enough dumb people around. Ridiculous. And if she really wants to die… well, imagine what a failure she must feel like. It would almost make you want to kill yourself…. Oh, wait.
